Self love is one of those phrases that gets thrown around so much it starts to lose its edges. So before you press play, here is what I actually mean by it in this practice.
Most of us have a very selective relationship with ourselves. We love the parts that are performing well, the parts that are easy, the parts we are not ashamed of. And we spend enormous amounts of energy managing, avoiding, or apologizing for the rest.
The parts that feel too much.
The parts that have failed.
The parts we have not visited in so long we have almost forgotten they are still in there.
Homeostasis is the body’s intelligence. Its constant, quiet drive to return to balance no matter what it has been through. This meditation borrows that as its premise. Not that you need to fix anything or become anything. Just that all of you deserves to be in the room. This is a guided journey back to not just loving yourself, but liking yourself.
Find somewhere comfortable, give yourself 25 minutes, and let all of you be welcome here.
Stay soft,
Asa
