New choice
a 9-minute solo episode just dropped
In college my improv professor taught me something that changed my life. Two words. New choice.
It means that in any given moment, no matter how far down the wrong road, how deep in the wrong identity, how stuck in the wrong story, you have the sovereignty and autonomy to pivot. To change your mind about who you think you are. To move completely differently.
I’ve used it three times in the last few years. When I said yes to meditation teacher training. When I got laid off and had to rebuild from scratch. And recently when something felt deeply off about the direction I was heading. I said new choice and found my way back to the podcast. Back to myself.
The most important thing I’ve learned is this: building self-trust means that every decision you make becomes the right one. The suffering doesn’t come from making the wrong choice. It comes from being so afraid of making the wrong choice that you make no choice at all.
This episode is for anyone who has been waiting for permission to start over.
You don’t need permission.
You just need two words.
Stay soft,
Asa
