Thanks to everyone who showed up for today’s free live community meditation club.
I will not be hosting meditation next Monday as I will be on vacation. I will be back the following Monday (May 18th) & cannot wait to sit together again.
Attraversiamo. It is an Italian word that means let’s cross over. Let’s go to the other side. But today we did not practice crossing over. We practiced something harder and more honest than that. We practiced staying in the crossing.
Today I did something that scared me. I came to teach with zero preparation. No notes, no plan, no safety net. Just the intention to fully embody the very thing we were exploring together: uncertainty.
Most of us move through uncertainty trying to get to the other side. We white knuckle it. We hold our breath and wait for it to pass. But today we practiced something different. We practiced holding it. Sitting inside it. Letting it be here without needing it to resolve.
We used the breath to feel this directly. When we are uncertain we hold our breath, and that is exactly what keeps us stuck, drowning in the discomfort. But when we breathe through it, fully, completely, we fill our lung capacity and we float.
The uncertainty does not disappear. We just stop fighting it.
Attraversiamo. Not to get to the other side. But to learn to live in the crossing.
I read a passage from The Pivot Year that felt like it was written for this exact moment.
Enjoy the playback and I will see you in two weeks. 🧡
Stay soft,
🥭 Asa
