Hey! If you are new here, welcome in!!! Every Monday at 11am EST I host a free LIVE guided meditation on Substack called the Monsoon Season Meditation Club. It is an open door, drop in whenever you need it, no experience required. Just come as you are.
A quick note: next Monday is a holiday so we will not be meeting (even though I said it in the recording - my bad!). Our next Meditation Club will be on June 1st at 11am EST.
I would love to see you there.
Today our LIVE guided meditation was anchored in a question I heard recently on Wild Card’s podcast with NPR that is a totem in my very life and creative business.
How do I tap into something bigger than me?
Before I hit record this morning I ran into someone I know who told me he is interviewing for a job he does not want. He knows he does not want it. His body knows. His heart knows. But the logic is loud and the people around him have opinions and the money makes sense on paper.
I told him before we parted ways: taking a job you hate costs far more than it pays.
We do this all the time. We negotiate ourselves out of listening to the voice that actually knows. The one that is quieter than the fear, and older than the logic. We override it with what makes sense, what other people would do, what feels safe. And every time we do, something inside us fragments a little more. We lose a piece of our inner integrity. The gap between who we are, and how we are living gets a little wider.
Meditation is not a productivity tool or a wellness trend. It is the practice of returning to that pristine voice. The one that is connected to something larger than your circumstances, your fears, or anyone else’s advice. It is how we tap back into the divine.
That is what we practiced together today.
Enjoy the replay.
Stay soft,
🥭 Asa
